Why power and cooling talent is hard to secure
Thermal demand in data centers is rising quickly, and liquid cooling and other high-density technologies are creating demand for skills that did not exist at scale a few years ago. On the power side, resilience and uptime requirements leave no room for engineers who only partly understand the systems they are responsible for.
That combination of rising demand and genuine technical depth keeps the market tight. Generalist agencies can find people with power or cooling on their CV, but struggle to judge whether a candidate can actually perform in a mission-critical setting. For a live programme, the cost of that uncertainty is measured in delay and in risk to the facility itself.
